My Makeup Affair and Product Shelf Life

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day! Today I will be sharing with you my makeup affair. I will also talk a little about the product shelf life of your beauty goodies! πŸ™‚

Most of you probably do not know yet but I love makeup. I’m such a noob on applying them properly though, but that is for another entry. Haha. Around my high school year, I bought this huge makeup set from Watsons just because I was a curious kid.

It was inexpensive too at around Php 700 which already included everything I could possibly need for my first makeup set, even eye sharpener!

But then again, as I have said I do not have much experience so it was either I made a panda eye out of myself or a zombie gone terribly wrong.

And all these memories came rushing back to me because I saw some products from the set that surprisingly are still with me.

My Makeup Affair

Around 5 or 6 years after, I know it is high time to throw these products away. They are rarely used by the way, the quality sucks! Boohoo!

Now why did I share this? Because I want us to review the product shelf life of the typical products we use for our face.

  • Concealer: up to 12 months
  • Powder: 2 years
  • Pencil eyeliner: up to 3 years (if sharpened regularly)
  • Eyeshadow: up to 3 years
  • Water based foundation: up to 1 year
  • Oil based foundation: up to 18 months
  • Lip liner: 3 years
  • Lipstick: 1 to 2 years
  • Mascara: up to 4 months (if you want to prolong its shelf life, do not pump the wand in and out of the container)

Hope my makeup affair post helps! πŸ™‚ Bye for now!
