Dress Me Up Buttercup

Last night (Wednesday) I got invited to the advance screening of The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 at Gateway Cineplex10. 

I honestly am not a big fan but I’ve seen the other installments of Twilight… except part 1 of Breaking Dawn! HAHAHA So I was kinda lost with the story but the characters (Edward - Bella - Jacob love triangle) more than make up for it. And I also liked the special effects! Plus I love how they added some light and funny scenes into this relatively dark themed movie. Since obviously I didn’t read the novels as well, I didn’t know that THAT WAS THE ENDING! I mean, ganun pala natapos ang story! Whatta twist! ;P But I won’t spoil it na lang for those who didn’t read the book too. 

Anyway, thank you Gateway/Araneta for inviting me to this advance screening! :) There was a raffle before the show started, and my ticket number almost, ALMOST got picked. Mine was 461, the one called was 460!!! HAHAHA What is, muntikan na? Haay, luck was not on my side that night!

Even though I was already tired from the Avon Plant Tour that I also attended last Friday all the way in Calamba, Laguna (read blog post here), I still managed to make it to the Philippine Premiere Screening of Katy Perry Part of Me Movie in 3D at Gateway Cineplex 10! Not even the Friday madness traffic or the sudden pour of rain could stop me!

And of course, who would dare say NO to a Katy Perry movie pass??? Certainly not a huge Katy Perry fan like me! 

Look at the cute stage setup outside cinema 5! Candy and cupcake-inspired!!! Yummmm! This was actually a backdrop for the “Katy Perry Kamera Krazy Promo”. The one with the most creative shot wins free tickets to the premiere night. We were able to meet the winner! :)

The one with the blue wig and blue cotton candy was the winner (karir kung karir ang costume!! congrats!). I didn’t catch her name though, and her sister is at the far right in the picture. Joining them, from left to right: Me, Ria, Rovie and Helen! :)

Here I am with a blonde wig!!! Ano, papa-dye na ba ako ng blonde? Heehee!

We were given popcorn, hotdog sandwich, cotton candy and drinks! Buuurrrp!

And did I mention we watched it in 3D? It was my first time watching a 3D movie in Gateway Cineplex 10! I actually think it’s better to watch Part Of Me in 3D and I highly recommend it because you will really feel like you’re in the actual concert and you will appreciate more the 3D effects! 

I watched the actual concert of Katy Perry live here in Manila (read my blog post here) earlier this year, and I must say this movie completed the whole experience! In the movie you’ll see a glimpse of Katy’s life while she was on her California Dreams World Concert Tour that lasted for a year. You’ll be surprised to know that she went through a lot of things but still remained professional about it! You might even find yourself shed a tear on the scene where she broke down and cried really hard (and hate Russell Brand in the end, haha)! 

Katy Perry Part of Me movie will be shown in local cinemas on August 29, 2012 (Wednesday). All Katy fans unite, this is one concert-movie you shouldn’t miss! Catch it in 3D at Gateway Mall’s Cineplex 10! For movie schedules, check http://gatewaycineplex10.com.

If you’re following me on Twitter, you must have read a few tweets of mine (check it here, here and here) regarding this new and fourth Step Up installment — the Step Up Revolution! I was so giddy and excited upon receiving an email from Ms. Katherine (Digital Marketing Officer of Araneta Center) inviting me again for a premiere night. The advance screening of Step Up Revolution was held in Gateway Cineplex last Tuesday (July 31), a day before the nationwide showing here in the Philippines! As always, I’m impressed by the quality of sounds and clarity of the movie screen in Gateway Cineplex.

Here’s the trailer I got from Youtube. GOODNESS, those sexy bods and handsome faces!!! Definitely one good reason for me to watch this again, hahahaha! Never mind the fact that the plot is all too familiar and common (boy is poor-girl is rich-daddy doesn’t approve of my boyfriend type). But I really did enjoy the dance choreography so I really didn’t care about the plot anymore. Watch out for the flash mobs they did inside the art gallery and in the office building. Ahhhh-mazing, that’s all I can say!!! 

One more thing, a STEP UP movie isn’t complete without Moose! He did a cameo so watch out for that too. Cool dude, that boy is! People were actually ranting why he only got a cameo in this 4th Step Up installment. But don’t worry, the lead actor Ryan Guzman did not disappoint either (with that pretty face and rock solid abs, no I’m not complaining, sir!). 

So again, STEP UP REVOLUTION is NOW SHOWING in local theaters! Make this a movie date night this weekend with your special someone, friends or even your whole family! And be sure to catch it in Gateway Cineplex if you’re just around the Cubao area.
