Japanese Makeup Workshop

I’m super excited for this Japanese-themed makeup workshop by Virginia Olsen! See you there! :)
Red Buffalo Wings and Pizza

This wings and pizza place is not exactly new to me as I’ve tried it a few times in the past already, but I still got excited upon receiving a blog invite for the food tasting at Red Buffalo Wings & Pizza.

It was such a pleasure meeting the manager, Cheska Zamora and hearing about the humble beginnings of this restaurant she co-manages with friends. I liked the NY-vibe and the interior! Such a cozy place and perfect for afternoon/late-night tambayan with friends! You can enjoy your food inside their spacious air-conditioned restaurant or dine outside with their alfresco setting.

First that was served to us was this Chili Cheese Fries (Php155). As you can see the toppings are served generously, so plus points for that! I actually eat anything with cheese so it’s already a given I would like this right away, haha!

One of their bestsellers is this Parmesan Garlic Wings (Sinlge Php165, Double Php320, Family Php 620, Party Php1190) and I can determine straightaway why people loved this! It’s bursting with so much flavor… the parmesan cheese combined with the fresh taste of garlic is such a treat in the mouth!

The Teriyaki-flavored buffalo wings (Sinlge Php165, Double Php320, Family Php620, Party Php1190) has this sweet and tangy taste, a good alternative to those who doesn’t like their wings to be too much spicy. Other flavors to try: Original Buffalo (your choice of spiciness level - Hot, X-Hot or Suicidal), Honey Bourbon, Sweet Heat BBQ, and Hawaiian.

Now let’s get to the pizzas! The Red Buffalo’s Special Pizza (Php395) is perfect for meat lovers! It has pepperoni, Italian Sausage, ham, ground beef, etc. What I like best about Red Buffalo’s pizza is their thin and crispy crust. You can actually hear the loud crispiness sound when you bite! Aaah music to my ears!

For the health conscious ones (ehem like me lols!) there’s the Vegetarian Pizza (Php335). It’s equally rich in flavors and you’ll appreciate the fresh ingredients used.

Since I’m talking about healthy food anyways, I’ll continue with this Garden Salad (Php145) as well. They use crisp Romaine lettuce tossed on a medley of carrots, red onions, tomatoes, black olives, eggs, and bacon and served with Caesar dressing.

Now onto the more sinful food in the menu. One is this Double Cheesy Bacon Burger (Php235) made with two 1/4 pound beef patty served with an extrea cheddar cheese and topped with bacon and mushroom. You gotta be super duper hungry to finish this whole thing!

They also have Hickory Baby Back Ribs (Php375) which is their version of half-slab baby back ribs covered with their flavorful hickory-bourbon sauce and served with fresh coleslaw and home-made fries.

I prefer white sauce for pasta but their Spaghetti with Meatballs (Php215) tasted okay. I appreciated the chunky meatballs served in the marinara sauce.

I love their Chicken Alfredo Pasta (Php195) because it has just the right amount of creaminess for the sauce and the right tenderness for the seasoned chicken fillet.

And of course, for dessert we have this lone sweet treat from the menu, the Apple Bar with Vanilla Icecream (Php110). It’s actually the specialty of Cheska and when asked why it’s the only dessert served in the resto, she said she just wanted to offer something sweet to cleanse off the palate and not confuse Red Buffalo as a dessert place. Good point. You come here for the wings and pizza after all!

Tuesday would be a perfect day to try Red Buffalo cos they have this ongoing WINGSDAY TUESDAY promo! Buy (20pcs) Family wings and get (5pcs) Single wings FREE! Bring your whole barkada and enjoy their chickens! They also serve beers.

NACI Comfort Food now @ the FORT + giveaway
It was nice catching up with Nadine Nocom, the owner of NACI Comfort Food restaurant, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year. I was among the bloggers invited for their food tasting event held at their now-closed Greenhills branch (*read post here*) before. Although I’m sad that branch is now closed, I’m sure southerners and yuppies would enjoy their new location! They recently moved to a bigger and better space at the Fort! It was nice of Nadine to invite me again to their new home! After work, I went straight to the Fort and was very excited to see what has changed in this fusion restaurant.

So what’s new? For one, NACI now has high ceiling! I also noticed the revamped look — it’s now more stylish and modern. Probably to pique the interest of the Fort crowd. They also changed their name to just NACI Comfort Food, dropping the “and Dessert Bar.”

New color combination of the interior! Loving the yellow-green-orange combo… So refreshing to the eyes!

They also now have a bar area! NACI turns into a drinking place around 10PM onwards. They actually even dim the lights to get a “bar vibe.” Comfort food + drinks = one awesome night, agree? :)

And of course, they have this! Nadine was excited to share that their menu is now hi-tech! Naka-tablet lang naman! Amazing! Those who are familiar with NACI’s old menu would be surprised that they cut down their food selection for their new branch. But you’d hardly notice that because they STILL have a wide array of options available.

The Black Grape Shake is one of their bestsellers, so I ordered this. I usually order mango shake when I dine out, but I have to say this Black Grape Shake was worth trying! It tasted sweet and sour at the same time.

We can’t decide which appetizer to get so Nadine recommended the Nat’s Appetizer Sampler. We can mix and match up to 4 appetizer from their menu. We chose Glazed Chicken Wings, Triple Nachos, Cajun Mozzarella Balls, and Classic Gambas.

Glazed Chicken Wings - Crispy fried chicken wings with their secret glaze served with lemon cream dip. I love the tangy taste of this!

Classic Gambas - Classic sauteed fresh water shrimps with garlic, chillies and roasted pimiento. I kinda wish this tasted a bit spicier.

Triple Nachos - Deep fried flour tortillas, taro chips and corn chips served with cheesy Mexican beef and homemade tomato salsa. I was really craving for nachos for the longest time so finally it was satisfied that night! YUM! Although I hope they add more cheesy dip next time.

Cajun Mozzarella Balls - Crispy fried mozzarella croquettes served with pimiento salsa. These are amazeballs!!! You know how I dig cheese so much, right?

This Baked Potato Skins were also served as our appetizer. It’s deep fried half shell potato skins stuffed with beef ragout, mozzarella and tomato salsa. I don’t normally eat baked potato skin but since this one’s topped with so much mozzarella cheese, it was hard to resist!

Because it was love at first bite when I first tried this Nadine’s Adobo Cannelloni last year, I ordered it again that night. I really love this fusion dish! Creamy and bursting with so much flavors! I don’t like adobo eaten as ulam, but with this pasta dish, I can totally finish the whole thing up! It was named after the owner herself, Nadine and it’s one of their bestsellers! You gotta try this one out! :)

I also got to try the Arugula and Shitake Primavera. For the health conscious ones, you can try this out! But they also have Cohen-friendly menu which consists of four choices, so you can also ask them about that when you visit NACI.

This Creamy Lengua is described in the menu as braised fork tender lengua with mushrooms, olives and cream served with steamed up land rice. Hehe, I’m not a big lengua lover so I didn’t try this out much.
After consuming all those food, Nadine quipped that we should try their new Cuchifrito Rice Bowl. We all said no, haha! We were saving our full stomachs for desserts! A trip to NACI isn’t complete without trying their delicious cakes! We were able to try four flavors as recommended by Nadine.

This Chocolate Ganache Cake is a personal favorite of mine. It was their bestseller flavor at their Greenhills branch. Omygosh, just typing this post made me crave for it again! :P

Their Red Velvet Cake has this super moist texture and topped with their yummy vanilla cream cheese frosting.

New favorite of mine would be this Pistachio Sansrival. Nadine also mentioned it’s their new bestseller at their Fort branch. I’m not surprised why many loved this! It’s made of layers of crispy meringue and rich pistachio buttercream loaded with roasted pistachio nuts. It’s not overly sweet and the crispiness takes it to a new level.

This Caramel Cream Cake is made of luscious blend of vanilla cream and caramel fudge sandwiched between layers of light vanilla chiffon finished with caramel glaze and shards of dark chocolate coverture. This didn’t standout for me that much… probably because I was cake overloaded by that time already. Maybe next time I’ll give this sweetie another try.

Thank you again Nadine for the invitation and for the yummy dinner courtesy of Naci! You guys would be surprised to know that she takes her resto business seriously! She’s very hands-on with the operation (together with her partner Natasha) and you can normally find her at NACI talking to customers and treating them as long time friends. She makes the people feel at home, and I guess great tasting food combined with great customer service like that made people loyal to NACI.

Photo-op outside NACI. You will surely love the food here. It may be quite pricey but the upscale location calls for it… that’s why NACI made the servings bigger so you’re rest assured you’ll still be getting your money’s worth.
