On Animal Cruelty

Whilst browsing through my dashboard awhile ago, I stopped and stared at this cute photo of bunnies above. But upon reading what was written underneath the picture, my smile lopsided into a frown. Here’s what the text said…

This is a picture of an Animal Testing Facility.

The reason they use rabbits for animal testing is because they are the only animal who can not flush chemicals out of their eyes without using aids like water or their paws.

Next time you buy cosmetics or hair spray or anything in the beauty section - choose the brands that are NOT tested on animals.

Here’s a hint: Loreal are the worlds biggest cosmetic animal testers, and Garnier isa sub-company of Loreal.

If you have trouble finding out who tests on animals and who doesn’t, google is at your fingertips.

The look on the bunnies face second from the right is absolutely heartbreaking.

your beauty isn’t worth their pain.

I have a soft spot for animals. Our house was once a jungle of pets — cats, fish, birds, chickens, dogs, you name it. And yes, even rabbits. So this issue right here hits close to home. I can still clearly remember why my pet bunny died — because I overfed it (I was a kid who happily fed her pets without really thinking, I’m sorry). And that is why I can’t imagine another innocent animal dying, when in fact they have the right to live!

So I did a research on which products are still testing on animals. I landed on a website called BeautyFool. She did a great job of separating those companies who still test and those who do not.

PETA also has their own site wherein you could SEARCH FOR CRUELTY-FREE COMPANIES AND PRODUCTS.

I’m not saying hey let’s boycott those on the left side of the list. But if we can, let’s do our part and not support them. I admit this will be hard for me as I’m still shocked most of the products I use test on animals. But it’s a challenge I’m willing to take. Besides, the right side of the list looks aplenty to me. Which is good and I’m excited to make the switch. One little step goes a long way as they say.

I have no authority to force my beliefs on anyone… I’m just merely stating a fact. A reality that could and should have been prevented. There are many alternatives to animal testing, just so you know.
