Review: Olay Anti-Ageing Eye Cream

Hi everyone! A few weeks back, a friend asked me what eye cream do I use and if I can post a review about it. I answered him that I use Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Ageing Eye Cream now but was a Ponds user before. Hope this review will help my friend… and as well as others who are interested in buying an eye cream. For any questions and concerns, I’m just a tweet away! :)

So okay, let us start…

Olay must be a household name to most of you because of its numerous TV commercials and ads everywhere that promises youthful looking face and skin. This particular eye cream is said to be “formulated to fight 7 signs of skin ageing in the sensitive skin around the area, helping reduce dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles in the eye area. Dermatologically and opthamologically tested”. Thank goodness I don’t see any wrinkles (yet!) so my main problem really is the dark circles. So with high hopes that they disappear, or at least lighten, I tried this one.

This 15 ml jar contains nude color cream that is not discomforting to put on my under eyes. I didn’t experience any irritation or tingling sensation when I apply this (unlike the Avon alternative I use — review on that one next time). Also, it is light in consistency and absorbs easily on my face.

However, I’ll be honest now and say to you that I’m not the most diligent person in applying this eye cream. There were nights when I forget or I’d skip this just because I’m too tired (and lazy hahaha).

But I’m amazed that every time I wake up in the morning after applying this the night before, my under eyes are visibly more lively and fresh. Aside from that, I could see the dark spots became lighter. I guess it also helps that I get 8 (and on some days, more) hours of sleep everyday. Of course, the results may vary from person to person, but as far as I could tell, this helps improve my dark circle area.

Now, you might be skeptic and say you’re too young to be using any anti-ageing products at this point in your life… (hellyeah, I used to be one of those)… but really, prevention is better than cure. After all, who doesn’t like to age GRACEFULLY, right? This is included in my skin care ritual for the past 4 months now.

I’m aware that this is just one item among the wide range of Total Effects product line. Maybe next time I can get around into buying and trying the others. Anyway, the eye cream costs around Php 600+ (15 ml) and can be bought at any leading department stores, Mercury Drug and Watsons nationwide.

Any other eye creams you would like to recommend? :)
